So, what exactly is a Soda Foundation Machine?
A soda fountain is a machine that serves carbonated soft drinks known as fountain beverages. They’re available in restaurants, movie theatre concession stands, and other places, including convenience stores. The gadget, an automated soda fountain, combines flavoured Syrup or syrup concentrate and carbon dioxide with cold and filtered water to manufacture soft drinks, either manually or in a vending machine. The Syrup is frequently pumped from a customised container called a bag-in-a-box (BIB).
How Does It Function?
CO2 is dissolved into water in a soda fountain machine by reducing the temperature of the water or increasing the pressure of the CO2 gas using a carbonator. Booster pumps force the water to rise in pressure, allowing the CO2 to dissolve.
To make the soft drink, soda water is blended with flavoured Syrup. The Syrup and carbonated water combine and discharge through the nozzle, activated when the consumer presses a lever. The Syrup is frequently stored in plastic bags attached to the tubes. When the consumer depresses the lever, air pressure draws the soda flavouring from the plastic bags.
Furthermore, the ice bin maintains the soda cool and provides ice for consumers’ drinks. A rotational device in the ice dispenser pushes the ice toward an aperture. The ice slides through the aperture, down a chute, and into the consumer’s drink. The ice cubes are collected in a receptacle at the bottom with a grate.
What tools will I require?
A soda fountain bag-in-box system will require the following:
Cooling system (cold plate, remote cooler, etc.) CO2 cartridge, dispenser (soda gun, draught arm, tower, counter electric, drop-in, ice/beverage combo)
Syrup pumps and regulators (primary and secondary)
Carbonator Stainless fittings BIB connectors (1 for each syrup pump) Hose/tubing (high pressure and BIB hose) Syrup
How Much Room Will a Soda Fountain Machine Require?
Soda fountains come in various shapes and sizes, and the supporting equipment is no exception. In general, the syrup boxes and the CO2 tank take up the majority of the area (5-gallon syrup boxes are 11″x15″x”).
Syrup pumps can be constructed in various ways to maximise available space. For example, it can be installed sideways to save horizontal space and be in a single row/column or numerous rows/columns.
A 20lb. CO2 tank is typically 28″ tall and 8″ in diameter, while standard carbonators are approximately 12″ x 12″ x 12″.
Each component element will be configured to your specifications.
